Think Brownstone – Remote Collaboration
Project Proposal: At Think Brownstone, we like to have our clients come in for a project kick-off meeting, called a “Think Session.” Often times, not everyone is able to be there in person so remote collaboration tools are a necessity. Many of the existing tools have problems and we are looking for a remote collaboration tool that keeps clients engaged and allows for them to contribute to the start of a project.
Duration: 5 days
Reframing the Problem: We chose to constrain the problem space, focusing on the possible disconnect between clients, who are remotely located, and all individuals present for the Think Sessions. To address this issue, we aimed to provide a quick and efficient method for decision making during these sessions.
Proposed Solution: We’ve designed a plugin to allow teams to easily make and document decisions during meetings. Being able to clearly articulate design decisions to stakeholders is crucial for any UX Designer and documenting those decisions is key. Our solution can be fully integrated into any of a project’s Think Sessions to facilitate decision making and improve meeting efficiency.
Future Strategies: For our concept, we imagined this decision-facilitating tool as a plugin within Google Hangouts. That being said, we see this as a tool that could easily be added to any remote collaboration tool. We envision this plugin having the ability to export the final list of decisions from a specific meeting to a PDF or combine decisions into a single project file.
